I. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the PHALANX application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

II. Description of Service

PHALANX is a mobile application for private porn recovery, discipline, and self-directed behavior change that provides:

• A 30-day quit system with progress tracking, streaks, and warrior-themed progression
• Fortify, an urgent-use flow for moments when you want help staying in control
• Next-order actions, reset logging, and post-slip containment tools
• Optional reminders, check-ins, and notification-based recovery prompts
• Optional self-report questionnaires (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PPCS-6)
• An AI coaching assistant for reflection, planning, and discipline support (Centurion)
• Educational content related to discipline, Stoic practice, and self-guided porn recovery
• Customizable warrior avatar system
• Optional content-blocking or restriction features where available on your device and plan

IIA. Subscriptions

PHALANX is free to download. After onboarding, full campaign access requires a subscription or store trial if one is available. The current store purchase sheet controls access, pricing, renewal, cancellation, and any trial terms.

PHALANX Premium unlocks full campaign access. Current purchase options may include monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime purchase. The Apple purchase sheet shows the exact products, price, trial eligibility, renewal, and cancellation terms before confirmation.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings
• Lifetime access is a one-time purchase and does not renew
• Any trial, introductory offer, subscription, or one-time purchase terms are shown by Apple before confirmation

Paywalls, offer pages, and purchase-status checks may be supported by services such as Superwall and RevenueCat. Your actual purchase is processed by Apple, not directly by PHALANX.

Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies.

III. Not Medical Advice

PHALANX is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The self-report questionnaires included in the App (PHQ-9, GAD-7, PPCS-6) are provided for self-tracking and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.

PHALANX does not guarantee that you will quit porn, avoid relapse, improve relationships, improve mental health, or achieve any specific outcome. AI Centurion, Fortify, reminders, content blocking, and educational material are support tools only. They can be incomplete, wrong, unavailable, or ineffective in a specific moment.

IIIA. Fortify, AI, and Content Blocking Limits

Fortify: Fortify suggests actions that may help interrupt an urge or recover after a slip. It is not a counselor, clinician, sponsor, crisis line, or emergency tool. You are responsible for deciding whether an action is safe and appropriate for your situation.

AI Centurion: AI responses are generated by an automated system and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Do not rely on AI Centurion for medical, legal, emergency, or crisis advice.

Content blocking: Blocking and restriction features may not block every website, app, search, browser, or workaround. They may require device permissions, operating-system support, and correct setup. You remain responsible for your own device settings and behavior.

IV. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use PHALANX. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

V. User Conduct

You agree to use PHALANX responsibly. You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its services, attempt to bypass access controls, reverse engineer the app, or use PHALANX to generate harmful, abusive, illegal, or misleading content. If any future feature allows user-submitted content or interaction, you agree to:

• Treat other users with respect and dignity
• Not post content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory
• Not post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
• Not attempt to identify or deanonymize other users
• Not share content that is illegal or violates the rights of others

VI. Intellectual Property

All content, design, artwork, sound effects, and code within PHALANX are the exclusive property of PHALANX and its creators. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content within the App without explicit written permission.

VII. Disclaimer of Warranties

PHALANX is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

VIII. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PHALANX and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data or use, arising out of your use of the App.

IX. Data & Privacy

Your use of PHALANX is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In summary: sensitive records are stored locally by default, limited account, progress, subscription, notification, attribution, and feature metadata may be processed so the app works, and AI coaching requires sending your message and limited recent context through a secure proxy for processing.

X. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

XI. Termination

PHALANX requires sign-in via Apple or Google for account recovery and cloud sync of your progress data. You can stop using the App at any time. To fully terminate your account, use the "Delete Account" option in Settings, which will permanently remove your authentication record and all server-side data. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored data from your device. We may suspend or terminate access if we have reason to believe a user is under 13.

XII. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
